How to Get Better AI Try-On Results: A Practical Input Checklist

Better AI try-on results start before you press Start try-on. The generated preview is only as clear as the model and garment references you give it. A few minutes spent preparing those inputs usually produces a much more useful visual comparison than repeatedly generating from unclear images.

This is not a guide to making a perfect image. It is a checklist for making a more reliable decision aid: a preview that helps you compare a look, notice whether a styling direction works, and decide what to explore next.

1. Start with a clear model reference

For the strongest visual reference, choose a full-body image where the person is visible from head to toe. Keep the subject reasonably centred, clearly lit, and unobstructed. A cropped image, a dark scene, a busy background, or another person blocking the subject leaves the system with less useful information to work from.

2. Give each garment its own clear image

Use one complete garment per image. For a two-piece look, add the top and bottom separately. For a one-piece look, use the one-piece option and upload the complete garment there. This gives the system a direct answer to a basic question: which item is supposed to appear in the preview?

Avoid collages, a pile of several garments in one frame, or an item that is heavily folded, covered, or cut off at the edges. These images can still look fine in a product listing, but they are weaker references for an AI try-on input.

3. Prefer a simple background and visible garment details

Choose garment photos with a clean background, even lighting, and enough contrast to show the silhouette, neckline, sleeves, hem, and main colour. The goal is not studio perfection. It is to keep the garment itself easy to identify.

If you are starting from an item in the Outfits catalog, use the product flow to keep the complete look together. If you upload your own garment images, remove surrounding distractions first and make sure the item fills a useful part of the frame without being cropped.

4. Check the file before uploading

TryOnLoom accepts PNG, JPG, and WEBP images up to 4 MB each. If an upload fails, check the file format and file size first. Converting a very large photo to a properly sized JPG or PNG is often more effective than uploading the same file repeatedly.

The same practical rule applies to both model and garment inputs: use a normal image file, not a screenshot of a link, a document preview, or an image with several unrelated items on it.

5. Use a short pre-generation checklist

Before generating, check five things:

1. The selected model is the person reference you intend to use.
2. The top and bottom are in the correct slots, or the one-piece option is selected for a single complete garment.
3. Each uploaded image shows one identifiable subject or garment.
4. The file format is PNG, JPG, or WEBP, and each file is no larger than 4 MB.
5. You have the right to use every image you upload.

Once those inputs are ready, select Start try-on. The Fitting room shows the five-credit cost before generation. Credits are consumed only after a usable result is produced; a failure before a usable result should not use credits.

6. Evaluate the preview for the right job

A completed image can help you compare colour relationships, layering, overall silhouette, and the mood of a look. It is useful for narrowing options, not for proving that a garment will fit.

AI try-on cannot measure a body, confirm a size, guarantee real fabric texture or stretch, or predict exact drape and colour in person. Use product measurements, retailer information, and a physical fitting when those details matter to the decision.

7. Keep the previews that help you compare

When a result is useful, save it to Try-on history or download it locally. Saved results are private to your account, so you can return to them, filter them, compare different directions, or delete them without creating a public gallery of your images.

The best result is not always the most dramatic one. It is the preview that makes the next decision clearer.
